The Splash: Cymbal Public Relations to Officially Launch Aug. 16

Cymbal Public Relations, LLC, based in Olympia and owned by long-time public relations professional Bobbi Cussins, will officially launch Aug. 16.

Cymbal Public Relations offers a slate of services to help employers and groups reach their communications goals and navigate an increasingly complex communications and media landscape.

“After more than twenty-five years in the public relations profession working alongside elected officials, business leaders and on behalf of public policy campaigns, I am excited to venture out on my own,” said Cussins. “Among the many things the pandemic showed us is that every organization, company and group needs a strong communications plan and a seasoned public relations professional to help them successfully execute it. My goal is to help clients fill that need with the experience I’ve gained and relationships I’ve built over many years.”

Whether it’s a matter of communicating within an organization or addressing an issue or crisis outside it, having the right communications expert at the ready is critical, Cussins added.

Cussins most recently served as the communications director at the state Department of Natural Resources, which is overseen by a statewide elected official. She has also worked as a communications leader at business associations, including the National Federation of Independent Business, the Washington Restaurant Association (now the Washington Hospitality Association) and the Association of Washington Business. She also worked as a public information officer in the state House of Representatives for nearly a decade.

Cussins received a PRSA Totem Award in 2019 for her work to promote careers in manufacturing and is known for her communications work for K-12 funding, public safety, environmental policy and wildfire and forest health funding.
